20 Miles for 20 Years Cured

January 20th, 2014 is my 20th cancerversary! It has been 20 years since I completed treatment -- and being that far from chemo is something I definitely want to celebrate!

There is no better way for me to celebrate surviving cancer than contributing to the mission of LIVESTRONG and enjoying time with my family, including my daughter Hannah. I have spent my entire life affected by cancer and fighting cancer is my life's work. This is why I have spent Hannah's entire life working for LIVESTRONG developing, shaping and executing programs and services that improve the lives of people affected by cancer.

Last year, Hannah and I started participating together in run/walk events. We are continuing this year and at the 2014 Car2Go Austin Marathon Relay, we will walk our 20th mile together in celebration of my 20 years cured.

Our first goal was to raise $5,000. Thanks to our amazing friends and family we did that in under a week!

We hope you will help support our bigger goal of raising $20,000 to create an endowed fund at LIVESTRONG. By doing so, we will help to maintain an organization that is changing the way the world fights cancer.

Please consider giving $20 to celebrate my 20 years cured. If you are able, please consider giving $20 for each of my 20 years cured. Our endowment fund needs a name and anyone who donates $400 or more can help us select it!

Stay tuned between now and 9/22/2014 because we'll have more to share!
