APRIL SNOW DOMINGUEZ
As many of you may know, and many may not, my father passed away in September 2007 after being diagnosed with Melanoma at the age of 48. In 2011 I decided to dedicate at least one cancer supportive race a year in his honor. I ran the 2012 Austin LIVESTRONG Half Marathon as a tribute to his fight, perseverance, and faith. Unfortunately, at the start of 2013 I was injured and unable to participate in the 2013 Austin LIVESTRONG Marathon.
I am now blessed with the opportunity to both raise money and fight through 26.2 miles for all those who are affected by cancer. Team Field of Dreams will be training and fundraising to participate in the 2013 ING NYC LIVESTRONG Marathon on November 3, 2013. We have committed to raising a minimum of $7,600 by October 16, 2013. Every dollar counts, every gift is appreciated. Eighty-two cents of every dollar raised goes directly to families and individuals affected by cancer.
This fight is personal. It is not only a fight in memory of the bravery of my father, but in honor of many friends and family members lost to cancer, and in support of the friends who are currently in the hardest fight for their life. I am asking for your donations to help team Field of Dreams run 26.2 miles in honor of every person affected by cancer.
The money we raise will go to support programs and services, which inspire and empower people affected by cancer. If you or someone you know is diagnosed, these resources will help face the challenges of cancer, head on, and live life on your own terms. Livestrong.org/get-help
