Mr. Jay Cameron
Hey Everyone! I am honored and thankful for you taking the time to check out my fundraising page and to to get a little insight of why I chose to run this years ING NYC Marathon with Team LIVESTRONG.
My sister Jill was diagnosed with Leukemia over 20 years ago. Although I was young at the time, I remember the support staff my sister was fortunate to have during her battle with cancer. Family, friends, nurses, doctors, orginizations all pulled together to ensure Jill would have the best chance at beating this deadly disease that takes far too many lives each year. Today, Jill is doing better than all of us could have imagined 20 years ago. With a beautiful daughter and a loving husband, she is living her life to the fullest and not taking a second for granted. (Just hurry up and move back to the east coast already, we all miss you and Cameron......and Nathan)
I am not running the New York City marathon for myself or just one person. I am running it for Jill and all those who have overcome this deadly disease. I am running it for our family friend Mike, his family and all those who are currently battling each and every day to to beat this disease as Jill and our family did. My Aunt Mary Beth's strength and determination has really inspired not only me to run this race, but also my entire family. (Great to see that you're back on the front porch in Avon with the ones who love you most!) I am running it for everyone who has supported and played a part in trying to develop a cure so we can put an end to cancer. I know all the people I mentioned above along with the many others will help me push myself across the finish line.
Any support, whether through the site or even making the trip to the big apple would be awesome and I am more appreciative than you can imagine. Thanks again everyone!
